Easy breezy picnic time at Tea in the Park
Cape Town currently feels the city of eternal summer. We, as South Africans, are notorious for making the most of a not-so-lekker situation and this is no different. So, instead of lamenting the lack of rain, why not celebrate the sun and have a picnic instead?
It’s the perfect way to bring friends and family together and gives you license to laze the day away while enjoying the natural beauty of the Mother City. Tea in the Park café in Green Point park has made it that much easier by doing all of the hard work for you!
Location, location, location…
The adorable café by Reliance is a local gem nestled in the Green Point biodiversity garden. This spot means lots of room for kids to run and play, plus the smell of the ocean and captivating views from Table Mountain to Lion’s Head will take your breath away. Head to this special space for a moment of calm amidst the inner city chaos.
The quaint little building with adorable miniature stone wall has welcomed families with meals, bakes and bites since September 2016. Their new picnic option is perfect not only for families but also couples seeking a meal for two.
Treats to go
The packed picnics are great as all of the hard work is done for you by the cooks at Tea in the Park. The best part is that you get to pick your favourites from their menu, vegetarian options included, to create your ideal meal. Sandwiches, wraps, salads and sweet treats are all included as well as cutlery, a picnic blanket and umbrella for your comfort.
Clean and green
All of the indigenous plants found in both the garden and the one of a kind Biodiversity garden are grown in 100% organic Reliance Compost. Tea in the Park has built on this green legacy by serving local food and encouraging recycling and sustainable practices. The park is also animal friendly, so your four-legged family member can join in the fun too! Put this at the top of your list to enjoy the sunshine.
