I must admit that I am a biscuit lover, I don’t crave sweets or ice-cream that much… but biscuits, oh gosh! I really can’t resist brownie bites and a couple of crunchy chocolate cookies.
So imagine my reaction when I popped into the new Nibbly Bits store and discovered an entire shop filled up with my favourite handmade biscuits at discount prices!
Pouring over the crowded shelves, I carefully selected some of my all-time favourites and put them into my basket: the coconut bites, the tripple choc cupcakes, the cranberry and almond rusks, and the cinnamon swirls. I love factory outlets, they’re ideal for people like myself who are fond of high quality, unique and hand-made products but avoid the hiked-up prices in many stores. I spent around R60 for all my shopping, which is less than half of what I would have spent at a normal shop.
Essentially, factory shops welcome all those products that don’t meet specific quality standards, for example think about over baked or almost broken biscuits: they may not look perfect but still remain scrumptious; and who wouldn’t be more happy to spend only R13 for a packet of chocolate-coated shortbread?
Nibbly Bits also run specials every month, so check out their Facebook page to keep up-to-date with the latest news.
