Fat Cactus is a Gardens institution, and it just got fatter! Following a recent expansion project this October, this beloved Tex-Mex and tequila joint is now bigger and better than ever. The additional space has been beautifully integrated, and we’re already struggling to remember their previous size… although our poor memory might be linked to their famous frozen margaritas! Have you ever managed to resist?
This bustling spot really contributes to the vibe in Gardens, and is always lively – particularly over the weekend or on sunny evenings. As well as their huge range of tequilas, Fat Cactus also has cups of local spirit – the acquisitio
Earlier in the month, the popular outside space of Fat Cactus stretched out, and now the interior has also dramatically increased in size. Their space has grown by roughly 25%, meaning the busy weekends will be a little less crowded, though no less vibey! The original bar has gone, and been replaced with a superior, larger version in the new portion of the space. The frozen margaritas remain though, fear not.
Celeste, the owner, said they are grateful to operate in the GPOKCID. They frequently use the GPOKCID security phone line to report incidents or suspicions, and value the service provided. She described the GPOKCID team as “great, especially at night.”
Celeste was also enthusiastic about the patrols, stating that “At weekends it’s really helpful, to stop people hanging about outside the front at night. It’s great to have that security presence when there are people drinking, especially.”
With fantastic drinks deals and a wide menu, Fat Cactus is an obvious choice for a night out with friends. However, with their larger space it’s also a welcome addition to the list of options for a quieter lunch over work or with family. Their menu spans nachos, fajitas, burgers, and quesadillas to name a few.
Drinks deals include buckets of beer (where the sixth bottle is free), and discounts on all of their alcoholic drinks. To match their large space, Fat Cactus also has possibly the longest happy hour in the GPOKCID – spanning 12h00 – 18h00!
They’ve also just launched their festive menu, and are utilising their larger space to take group bookings throughout the holiday period. Book now to avoid disappointment!
