With sunny blue skies, cloudless days and increasing temperatures, summer is nearly upon us. It’s time to make the most of the longer days of sunshine and enjoy the green spaces of our city. The best way to enjoy one of our local parks is by enjoying tea in the park’s café!
It’s all about location
Situated in the evergreen Green Point biodiversity garden, Tea in the Park has the perfect location for a relaxing atmosphere. With the fresh smell of the ocean and captivating views of Table Mountain and Lions Head, their slogan rings true – ‘Truly a place where time stops’ right in the middle of our Mother City. They have been in this spot since September 2016, and are open seven days a week, from 09h00 to 17h00.
The Tuesday special
Every Tuesday, they serve complimentary tea with any meal or cake order. They also have a signature dish on offer each day, which always offers a delicious lunch. Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed either, as the home baked carrot cake looks divine and the cheesecake a seriously indulgent treat!
Security is key
Tea in the Park is one of many businesses to benefit from the efforts of Green Point CID staff to improve the area. Thanks to the clean and safe environment of the cafe, parents can relax with a cup of tea, or catch up with friends over a light meal, with confidence that their children can run around safely enjoying themselves on the grass in front of the café. Green Point CID staff also patrol this area, offering a reassuring presence, assistance if required and usually a friendly wave!
Tea in the Park Manager, Felicity, described our team members as: “Always greeting with a smile. They go out of their way to help where they can, they’ve even assisted one of our staff members changing her flat tire once.”
Tea in the Park, part of the Reliance Compost Group, invites all Capetonians to stop by and enjoy not only tea, but a wide range of hot and cold drinks, sweet treats, wraps and sandwiches in their lovingly maintained garden. Green Point Park is truly a little piece of paradise in the middle of the Mother City.
