There were 12 successful arrests made in November and a total of 39 criminal and municipal incidents reported in the GP/OKCID area. A big thank you to our team, who is hard at work, 24/7, to make the city cleaner and safer.
The criminal activity with the highest frequency is still theft out of motor vehicles, with three incidents reported last month. We know we say this all the time, but please don’t leave valuables in your car. Also remember to park in a well-lit, visible area when possible, and double check that your car is locked before leaving the area.
The second most commonly reported incident is motor vehicle accidents, with six reports last month. Keep these three things in mind whenever you are behind the wheel:
- Always wear your safety belt.
- At this time of the year there are many people on the road and pedestrians walking about. Please drive slowly to give yourself enough time to react if there is any emergency on the road.
- Please don’t keep your valuables in sight when driving, have them in your boot or under the seat of your car for safety’s sake.
There were two arrests made for possession of possible stolen goods. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times, be careful when walking in the streets, and try to walk in groups when possible.
If you care about your community and would like to be part of our continued efforts to improve the area, why not become a board member? You can make a real impact and always be abreast of what’s happening nearby. All we need from you is attendance at four board meetings a year. Find out more information here.
