The festive season has already arrived! Can you believe how quickly this year has gone? Although time has flown we don’t really mind, because it means the arrival of Cape Town summer, where Oranje-Kloof’s streets come alive. With new restaurants and bars constantly opening up in our area, along with our tried and tested restaurants that have stood the test of time, we are spoilt for choice. To save you from making festive dithering between choices and introduce you to somewhere new, we’ve compiled a list of hangouts for the best festive summer cocktails.
The Bar at Janse & Co.
This magnificent eatery was founded by chef Arno Janse Van Rensburg and his wife and fellow chef, Liezel Odendaal. Arno was previously at The Kitchen at Maison in Franschhoek for six years, so arrived with some serious experience. The team has recently added an outside bar to the eatery, which can be found in a courtyard under a leafy canopy. This spot truly is a hidden gem. Their collection of delicious cocktails is bound to impress, and for those with other drinks in mind, their menu includes a tastefully curated wine list, craft beers and ciders, and their very own in-house made kvass. There’s truly something for everyone at Janse & Co.

They offer ‘Happy Hour’ specials on selected drinks from 4-6pm every day, and keep an eye on their Facebook page for food specials and live music sessions.
