Whether you’re at work or at home, each day of the week can present a different challenge to maintaining your productivity and focus. Who loves Mondays? Do you also need a bit of a jolt to start the week?
We however forget that Mondays are the start of the work week which offer new beginnings 52 weeks of the year. Tuesdays are choose days. Choose to smile, choose to be happy, choose to love, and choose to be kind. Wednesday, naturally halfway to the weekend! Thursday – you made it through Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! And Friday is the day to finish your goals and celebrate the tasks you accomplished.
The question however is how to get through the week. Stress and work often go hand in hand. For many, it comes with the job. Experiencing stress doesn’t mean you hate your job, it simply means your ability to cope with your daily dealings could be better. Here are a few tips that could prove very helpful.
- What is making work so difficult?
Pinpoint the source of your stress. It might be a looming deadline, the computer that keeps crashing or a colleague that is not performing to standard. You can now determine whether the solution is within your control or not.
- Ask for help.
Reach out and ask for help. For most of us, it feels good to know we can help a colleague in need. Determine which tasks you can safely delegate to others, and which you need to do yourself.
- Don’t be too hard on yourself.
To be self-critical is terribly unproductive. Don’t beat yourself up over mistakes. Own your mistakes and take the appropriate steps to remedy the situation. Remember: We’re not judged by the mistakes we make, we’re judged by how we respond to them.
- Recharge your batteries.
It helps to step back from your desk and take a moment. Go for a short walk. Get a cup of coffee or tea. That mental break can be just what you need before tackling the next tasks at hand.
- See the opportunities.
Always see the opportunities during the work week and do not focus on the problems of the yesterday. Stay positive. Grab your dream and never let it go!
