If potjie is not your thing, you can have something similar by having a picknick in your backyard.

Play a board game while having some of your favourite drinks.
This is the best way to satisfy those competitive individuals while having fun and lots of laughter.
Another fun way to spend the evening is to read out loud to each other.
Put your best radio voice on and read an absorbing story out loud to your friends. If you want to make this a recurring event you can choose a book to read over multiple nights or keep it contained to one evening with a short story.
Adults old and children young all enjoy sitting round a fire pit and taking advantage to stoke the fire.
If it is combined with roasting some marshmallows and storytelling it will be a night remembered.
Instead of going out wine tasting, how about having a tasting at home.
To have the youngsters included rather have a chocolate, cheese or sampling multiple types of one food. Put together your own tasting flight by selecting numerous flavours of the same item to sample at home.
And lastly, something for the oldies which the up-and-coming generation will absolutely love.
Once thought to have been ancient is making a comeback. If you have a turntable, put on one of your favourite albums and listen to it all the way through. Put on your dancing shoes and teach the youngsters to swing, waltz and salsa. This will make for happy memories together while just having fun!
