GP/OKCID assisted with 25 arrests in March 2015

There was an increase in the number of vagrants in both Green Point and Oranje-Kloof last month, with three incidences where vagrants had to be forcibly removed. There are several hot spots for criminal activity in our areas and regular joint operations with SAPS are conducted to address this each month.

There has also been an increase in the number of injured vagrants on the streets. If you witness violence, or see a person that has been injured, please call our operations managers on 071 670 3019/ 072 944 6811 – our operations managers. They will then get hold of the relevant ambulance service.

Unfortunately the number of car break ins continues to increase in both Green Point and Oranje-Kloof. Our GP/OKCID officers try to maintain a visible presence at all times, and urge everyone to remember to take absolutely all of their belongings out of their cars to avoid break ins.

There were four car accidents reported in our areas during March, which is less than previous months. Please remember to keep an eye out for pedestrians and stick to speed limits.
