According to our January statistics, the crime rate decreased last month compared to December.Β There were 28 reported incidents, and with the assistance of SAPS, residents and neighbourhood watches, we were able to arrest some of the suspects. Our CID officers make a concerted effort to be on the crime scene as soon as possible, but we need the assistance of all role players in the community to catch the suspects.
There were a number of car break-ins, with seven reported in both areas. Only a few of the suspects were arrested, with most of the incidents happening in the same area. Please remove all valuables from cars when parking on the street to prevent break-ins.
If you ever feel unsafe or witness a car accident or crime, give one of our GP/OKCID operations managers a call immediately on 071 670 3019/ 072 944 6811. Be sure to tell visitors to save these numbers on their phone as well.
